Sipsmith
This award-winning vertical bottle wrap was praised by judges for creating good shelf impact whilst positively disrupting a traditional category.

THE BRIEF

Sipsmith, the creators of truly artisanal spirits of uncompromising quality, was seeking exclusive distribution with John Lewis. It required two bespoke gift boxes that reflected its quality artisan heritage and met the retailer’s expectations. Key requirements were a large area for graphical story-telling combined with maximum visibility of the bottled product.  

BOXMART’S ROLE
Numerous concepts were presented in various materials, from coated corrugated board to high-end carton board.  Sipsmith selected a unique vertical bottle wrap style, which protected the glass bottle without obscuring it and offered multiple faces for graphics.  Digitally printed 3D mock-ups were presented to John Lewis.  

PRODUCTION DETAILS
A matt micro flute board was specially produced for this project, providing superb strength and rigidity.   The board was completely white including the fluting – as opposed to the conventional grey/brown fluting.  A high quality litho print process was used.  

TIMESCALE
The particularly detailed nature of this project took 12 months to complete and was within the client’s deadline.  

RESULTS
Both the client and John Lewis were thrilled with the final packaging. The concept is now being introduced to other leading retailers and is being adapted to suit other bottle sizes in the Sipsmith portfolio.
